Our Curriculum

Our curriculum meets all of the statutory requirements of the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (September 2021) and has been sensitively designed to meet the needs of our community and the children who attend our Nursery School.  We strive to broaden and develop all children's knowledge, skills and instil a love of learning and lifelong skills.

We have taken into consideration that our children span the ages of 2 - 4 years old and that their learning needs can vary a great deal in this age range.  We have also considered that children vary in experience.  Our curriculum is broad and flexible with key milestones planned for children to achieve, but also includes sensitive reasonable adjustments and additional support if it is needed.

We are a fully inclusive setting and try our utmost to meet the needs of all pupils whilst striving for the best possible learning experiences and outcomes for all. We work in close partnership with parents and a range of external agencies such as health visitors, speech and language therapists, inclusion and intervention workers and local primary schools to name a few.  We are also very fortunate to have the Saplings Children's Centre on site with us so that we can provide a wide range of support for the whole family.

We believe that young children learn best when they are playing and directly involved in the learning, are actively emerged in first-hand experiences and when they feel happy and safe.
